Yes, absolutely true, but . . . the current system of education that the vast majority of kids are stuck in prevents them from developing and nurturing their passions. Kids are told what to learn, what to care about and what is and isn’t valuable for most of their young lives. It’s not surprising to me that Laura was homeschooled — as a homeschooler, she had a much better chance than kids who are traditionally schooled of being able to develop and pursue her passions from an early age.
